ZABIHA PROJECT
2009 (1430 H)

Eid-ul-Adha or Feast of Sacrifice is the most important feast of Islam. On this Occasion Muslims remember the Singleness of Allah SWT, his blessing upon us and to commemorate the trial and obedience of the Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) to his Load…….

Eid-ul-Adha also refers to the animal (camel, cattle or sheep) which are sacrificed as an act of worship to Allah Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan has over many years of experience in implementing the Zabiha Project. Muslims donate the cost of a sheep or cow to be sacrificed on their behalf by Al-Khidmat, and the meat is then distributed to the needy. For many poor people the Zabiha meat is the only meat they eat in whole year.

Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan started this project many year’s ago with few sheep and cows, but last few year’s Al-Khidmat has emerged one of the largest organisation that is implementing the Zabiha project in Pakistan.

Every year, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, animals are slaughtered and meat is distributed among orphans, poor families, prisons in jail, hospitals, refugees of Afghanistan and Kashmir and other deserving people. In this way a lot of people celebrate their Eid happily and sense feelings of emotions, sacrifice and tolerance for one another. One of the encouraging aspects of our Zabiha Programs is indeed the growing confidence of our partners and donors on our performance in the last few years.

Last year, animals of Rs. 80 millions were slaughtered and the meat was distributed among half million people.

Zakat
The Third Pillar of Islam

“And perform As-Salat, and give Zakat, and bow down or submit yourselves with obedience to Allah along with Ar-Raki’oun.” (Al-Baqarah: 43)

Zakat is the Third Pillar of Islam; it is mentioned 30 times in the Qur’an and 27 of those occasions it was combined with obligation of Salaat. Therefore Zakat is an obligation for Muslims. Zakat purifies one’s wealth and prevents stinginess and greed when given by a happy heart.

According to one of the Prophet’s (PBUH) Hadiths, Zakat is the third pillar of Islam. It was narrated on the authority of Ibn Omar, (May Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet (PBUH) said, “Islam is built on five: To testify that there is no God worthy of worship but Allah, and the Muhammad is His Messenger, to perform As-Salat (the prayer), and to give Zakat ………. etc”

Benefits for Zakat payers:

Allah compensates Zakat payer with more good than his charity, and rewards him in his life and in the hereafter.
Zakat helps its payer to get rid off stinginess and be purified from bad traits.
Allah would take Zakat payer in the shadow of his charity on the Day of Resurrection.
Zakat is evidence on the true faith and piety of Zakat payer.
Zakat leads to Allah’s forgiveness and mercy.

With your Help over the years, AL-KHIDMAT has been able to distribute the collected Zakat & charity among the deserving people in various forms.
